Ron Skates was a prominent leader at Data General Corporation, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer for ten years before retiring in 1999. He was previously a partner at Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP). Skates has sat on the Board of Directors of State Street Corporation, Courier Corporation and Gilbane, Inc, among others. He also serves as Trustee Emeritus of Massachusetts General Hospital and as Trustee of the Massachusetts General Hospital Physicians Organization.

Skates has been a partner to Cabot since 1999, both as a private investor and a director of the Company. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University.
